JIMA boutique winery
Jima Winery is a premium boutique winery in Epirus, Greece, located in the picturesque village of Kalomodia, near Arta. Established in 2014 by renowned winemaker Panos Jimas and oenologist Dr. Kristy Karagiannidou, the winery seamlessly blends scientific innovation with a passion for high-quality wines and terroir-driven viticulture.
With a strong focus on sustainable wine production, Jima Winery practices organic vineyard management and emphasizes low-intervention winemaking techniques. Every step of the process—from vineyard site selection and grape cultivation to vinification and bottling—is grounded in extensive research and a deep understanding of the region's unique microclimate and soil composition.
Panos Jimas, a certified chemist and WSET Level 4 Diploma holder, combines his academic background in food technology and oenology with hands-on expertise to craft elegant, expressive wines that reflect the character of Epirus.
Located just six kilometers from the Ambracian Gulf and the Arachthos River estuary, the winery benefits from a Mediterranean climate and cooling Ionian Sea breezes, creating optimal conditions for grape ripening. The estate includes a charming family ranch house, lush gardens, and a historic citrus grove, offering visitors an immersive wine tourism experience in one of Greece’s most unspoiled regions.
